Collection: Natural Gas & Propane Generators

Natural Gas Generators for Commercial and Industrial Power

A natural gas generator uses a gas-fueled engine to drive an alternator and produce electrical power. These generators can support commercial facilities, industrial operations, and other applications requiring appropriately configured standby or prime power.

MasterAire also offers natural gas/propane generators, providing fuel options across multiple generator capacities.

Choosing a Natural Gas or Propane Generator

Before selecting an industrial natural gas generator or commercial generator, consider:

●        Required power capacity in kW

●        Running and starting electrical loads

●        Voltage and phase

●        Standby or prime-power requirements

●        Natural gas or propane availability

●        Fuel supply requirements

●        Installation environment

●        Expected operating duration

●        Maintenance requirements

●        Future electrical demand

Generator capacity should be calculated from the loads that must operate simultaneously rather than facility size alone.

Prime Power Natural Gas Generators

A prime power natural gas generator is intended for applications where the generator serves as a primary power source under the conditions specified for that model.

MasterAire lists higher-capacity prime-power natural gas generator configurations for substantial industrial power requirements. Buyers should compare rated output, voltage, phase, operating conditions, and site requirements before selecting equipment.

Natural Gas vs. Propane Generators

Natural gas and propane are different gaseous fuels. Some MasterAire generator models are designed to operate with either natural gas or propane.

The appropriate fuel option depends on site availability, generator specifications, fuel infrastructure, expected runtime, and application requirements.

Explore MasterAire natural gas and propane generators to compare available power capacities, voltages, phases, and fuel configurations.

MasterAire generators are backed by a 1-year/1,000-hour warranty with free parts and service guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Natural Gas Generators

What is a natural gas generator?

A natural gas generator uses a natural gas-fueled engine to drive an alternator and produce electricity. It can be configured for commercial, industrial, standby, or prime-power applications depending on the specific generator.

Can a generator run on both natural gas and propane?

Some generators are designed for both natural gas and propane. MasterAire lists multiple natural gas/propane models, but buyers should always verify the fuel specifications of the individual generator before purchase.

How do I choose the right natural gas generator size?

Calculate the running and starting loads that must operate simultaneously. Then consider kW capacity, voltage, phase, intended operating mode, fuel supply, installation conditions, and future electrical demand.

What is a prime power natural gas generator?

A prime-power generator is designed to serve as a primary power source within its specified operating conditions. Generator rating and application requirements should be reviewed before using equipment for prime power.

What is the difference between a natural gas and propane generator?

The primary difference is the fuel source. Natural gas typically comes through a gas supply line, while propane is stored for use on-site. Generator compatibility and installation requirements vary by model.
